Dual Credit Enrollment Processes
-
Students enrolled in a dual credit college course may be required to complete the partner college’s dual credit application. While some of our partner colleges require an application, others do not. Students and families impacted by this requirement will receive instructions to complete the application in the Summer prior to the school year.
Students who do not complete the dual credit application through a partner college that requires it will not earn dual credit. They will only earn high school credit.
Placement of dual credit courses is also based on prerequisites which include, but are not limited to, standardized assessment, previous coursework, and teacher recommendations. Students that do not meet these requirements are subject to the removal of a dual credit course.
The expectation is that a student enrolled in a dual credit course will earn the dual credit through its partner college. If a student believes they should be exempt from earning dual credit, they should speak with their counselor and/or teacher.
