  • Block Schedule Pilot

Having adopted block schedules during the 2020-2021 school year to better accommodate student and staff needs during hybrid learning, District 214 will now implement block schedules for all of its comprehensive high schools as a pilot program.

District 214 reached this decision after receiving positive feedback about this year’s schedule from students, parents and teachers and additional positive feedback by way of parent surveys. Additional details of the schedule and several potential advantages identified by District 214 may be found here.

After the pilot concludes, we will review data and once again survey students, parents and staff regarding future years’ schedules.

  • 61st Annual Commencement Ceremony

    Class of 2021 Graduation

Commencement will be held outside in George Gattas Memorial Stadium on Wednesday May 19th. While we are all hoping for a pleasant evening, we remain prepared for an alternate ceremony with a rain date of Thursday, May 20th . District 214 is anticipating graduation to occur within the "Bridge" phase of the Restore Illinois plan. The "Bridge" phase will allow for 60% capacity of an outdoor venue. Subsequently, 2021 graduates will be allowed 4 tickets for the ceremony (barring any changes to public health guidance or a move back to Phase 4). Seats will be grouped and six feet apart. We will also live stream commencement to allow family members and friends to watch from home.
