At D214, we celebrate LGBTQIA+ Month in April to ensure our school community can fully participate during the academic year. While Pride Month traditionally occurs in June, moving our observance to April allows us to create meaningful, inclusive experiences that align with key events like the Day of Silence, a national event held in mid-April dedicated to promoting LGBTQIA+ visibility and allyship. By celebrating LGBTQIA+ Month in April, we raise awareness and foster allyship within our schools, amplifying the importance of acceptance, visibility and unity.
