To be in compliance with the State of Illinois, the Operations Department has provided required legal documents regarding certain projects, notices, and plans.

Herbicide and Pesticide Spray Plan

Township High School district 214 applies herbicides and pesticides to outside lawns and fields in accordance with the Lawn Care Products Application and Notice Act (415 ILCS 65/) by state certified personnel. All affected areas will be marked at the usual point or points of entry immediately following application and should not be entered until dry. Questions should be directed to Aneta Mistak, the District 214 Director of Operations at  847-718-7767.

For weed control on all grassy areas there will be a district-wide application of Speedzone or T Zone SE (both selective herbicides). For weed control along fence lines, paved areas, foundations and planting beds, an application of Esplenade EZ (a non-selective herbicide) will be applied. Application of herbicides will be performed by properly certified District personnel between April 15, 2024 and December 1, 2024.

For weed control on all grassy areas, the District’s licensed groundskeepers will be applying  Speedzone or T Zone SE  between April 15, 2024 and December 1,, 2024.

By law, Pesticide application notification can be disseminated on district/school websites, in newsletters, and/or other written correspondence currently published by each school and the District. All District 214 facilities have established a registry of individuals who wish to be specifically notified of pesticide applications on school grounds.
