403B and 457B Tax Shelter Information
Any employee of District 214 can open a 403B and a 457B account and contribute through payroll deductions. Utilize the document provided to contact an approved provider and set up an account. Complete a salary reduction agreement from the Omni website. This agreement directs the payroll department how much is to be deducted from each check and the company's name and address accepting your contribution. Changes can be made quarterly to the amount of your contribution, or the deduction can be stopped at any time by filling out a new agreement

Internships
School Counselor, School Nurse, School Psychologist and School Social Worker
All prospective candidates for internship positions must complete the application and upload the required documents. Applications will be reviewed during the second semester at each building's discretion. Each applicant’s qualifications will be examined by the Assistant Principal(s) for Student Services who plan to hire/mentor one or more interns. Potential candidates will be contacted directly by the building administrator for an interview. A placement will be determined based upon the results of the interview process.
Protocol for District Employees
District employees will be given priority placement for school counseling internships whenever possible. During the internship, district employees must take a leave of absence from their current positions.

Substitutes
Eligibility Requirements
You must hold the following licensure to substitute in District 214:
- Substitute Teacher - Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute Teacher License (SUB).
- Substitute Instructional Aide - Educator License with Stipulations, Paraprofessional Endorsement (ELS/PARA).
- Substitute School Nurse - Current RN License or a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Substitute Security Personnel – none required.
- Homebound Tutor - Professional Educator License (PEL).
All licensures must be registered in Region 05 – North Cook ISC
Pay Rates for 2024 – 2025 effective 8/12/2024
- Substitute Teacher: $37.80 per hour of instructional time. The daily rate for someone working all 4 blocks will be $217.35.
- Long Term Substitutes: For the first twenty days, the long-term substitute will get paid $37.80 per hour of instructional time. On the twenty-first (21st) consecutive full-time day the rate will increase to $275.00 per day.
- Substitute Nurse: $30.00 per hour; $240.00 per day.
- Substitute Aide or Safety $21.00 per hour.
Required TrainingProspective substitute staff and homebound teachers are REQUIRED to view the district’s online training tutorials as part of the application process. You will be sent a link and instructions for the tutorial training shortly after your substitute application submission and approval.
