Kraft, who currently serves as the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources, has been a dedicated leader in the district for over 15 years, bringing a deep commitment to supporting students, staff and school leadership.

Since joining District 214 in 2009, Kraft has held various leadership roles, including Associate Principal for Operations at Elk Grove and Wheeling High Schools and leader of Specialized Schools, where she worked to enhance student access to innovative programs. Her leadership has played a key role in shaping district wide initiatives, including expanding dual-credit opportunities through partnerships like the one she helped develop with Arizona State University. As Associate Superintendent for Human Resources, Kraft has recently led leadership development initiatives, modernized HR operations and guided the district through workforce challenges in the education sector.

In her new role as Deputy Superintendent, Kraft will work closely with principals and school leaders, providing direct support to schools and helping ensure staff and students have the resources they need to succeed. She will spend more time in schools, regularly engaging with staff and administrators to foster collaboration, address challenges and enhance the overall learning and working environment.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe highlighted Kraft’s strong commitment to the district, stating, "Kate has been a pillar of leadership in District 214 for over 15 years, demonstrating an exceptional ability to build relationships, support staff and create opportunities for students. She is deeply committed to being present in our schools, working alongside principals and staff to strengthen our educational community. Her experience, passion and hands-on approach make her the ideal choice for Deputy Superintendent. I look forward to continuing to work alongside her to support our schools and staff."

As Deputy Superintendent, Kraft will oversee Human Resources, leadership development and school support initiatives, ensuring that District 214 remains a place where educators and staff feel supported and empowered.
