John Hersey High School is consistently ranked among the best high schools in Illinois and across the nation. The school serves more than 1,800 students in grades 9 through 12, offering a well-rounded academic curriculum as well as high-quality co-curricular options. 

Hersey is one of six four-year comprehensive high schools in Township High School District 214. It is located in a suburban community about 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, which includes sections of Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, and Prospect Heights. JHHS houses two District 214 programs: the Career Life Skills program, which provides special education services to intellectually impaired students, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.
