District 214 is pleased to announce that Justin Attaway has been appointed as Associate Superintendent for Business Services, effective July 1, 2025. Attaway brings extensive experience in school finance and operational leadership, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for St. Charles Community Unit School District 303.
With a background in strategic financial planning, operations and resource management, Attaway has spent his career ensuring school districts have the fiscal stability and operational efficiency needed to support student success. He previously served as Business Manager for Skokie-Morton Grove School District 69 and Director of Operations for Glenview Public School District 34, where he worked on long-term financial planning and capital improvement projects.
Attaway’s appointment comes as District 214 confronts the findings of an $850 million facility needs assessment, which will guide future investment in school infrastructure. His expertise in budget management, long-term financial planning and school funding will be critical as the district navigates these challenges and opportunities.
Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe expressed confidence in Attaway’s ability to support the district’s financial health. Dr. Rowe stated, "Justin’s leadership in school finance and operations will be invaluable as we navigate complex facility and funding decisions in the coming years. His expertise will ensure that District 214 remains financially strong while strategically investing in our schools. I am excited to welcome him to our leadership team as we continue to plan for the future."
Attaway is completing coursework towards a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University.
