Research shows that a range of cognitive benefits come with learning a second or third language. In our globalized economy, bilingualism also comes with concrete benefits for job-seekers. Here at Rolling Meadows High School, students have the opportunity of learning French, Italian, Mandarin, and Spanish. Several levels are taught for all of these languages to allow students a path toward fluency and literacy, including a course for native speakers of Spanish.
Rolling Meadows High School students take human geography as freshmen, world history as sophomores, and U.S. history as juniors before getting the opportunity to take a range of electives. At the Advanced Placement level, these electives include U.S. government and politics, economics, psychology, and European history. Additional electives cover law and sociology.
