Students gain community based work experiences through our District 214 Center for Careers Discovery's collaboration with a variety of local business partnerships. Students attend a worksite under the supervision of a a Job Placement Specialist as an extension of the classroom to learn new job and social skills relevant to their career aspirations. Throughout their time in the life program, students gain experiences across several industries including: retail, hospitality, healthcare and manufacturing. The student's case manager and IEP team align students' post-school plans with work experience individualized to their employment goals.
