All students start their high school math curriculum with algebra and some take a second year before moving on to geometry and either intermediate or advanced algebra. Math electives include college algebra (through Harper College), mathematical applications, and college mathematical applications.

The Vanguard School science curriculum starts with biology freshman year. Sophomores take chemistry and juniors and seniors are free to add to their science studies with electives, including college physical science and environmental science.
