Summer Experience includes all the programs offered within D214 during the summer, including academic, non-academic, enrichment/experiential and athletic programs open to current students, incoming students and youth within the community.
Programs will be onsite/in person (with some available online) Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m .- 12:30 p.m. They will be scheduled within the following summer sessions:
Session 1: June 8 - June 25
Session 2: July 6 - July 23

Illinois 5Essentials Survey: Your Voice Matters!
Now through March 10, we invite parents, guardians and students to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is crucial in shaping the success of our school by gathering feedback on leadership, teaching collaboration, family involvement, school support, and instructional goals.
By completing the survey, you are helping us better understand the environment at D214 and provide feedback that will guide improvements. It's anonymous and easy to complete.

District 214 Artists and Writers Invited to Enter Arts Unlimited Contest
Submissions are now being accepted for the Daily Herald and District 214 Arts Unlimited Art and Writing Contest. The contest invites students to submit original artwork, poetry or prose in any genre, style or theme for a chance to be featured in the Daily Herald. Entries will be accepted through February 13 and are open to residents of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling.
All submissions must be sent electronically to herald.contest@d214.org, and winners will be notified by email by March 17. For full contest rules and additional information, click here.

Seal of Biliteracy Registration (January 9 - January 30)
Are you bilingual, have you studied a language other than English, or do you speak another language at home?
Students at District 214 have the opportunity to be recognized by the State of Illinois for earning proficiency in English and an additional language. The Illinois State Board of Education's Seal of Biliteracy Program will place an official seal on diplomas and official recognition will be placed on transcripts of students who qualify. Illinois public post-secondary institutions must grant university language credit to recipients of the Seal of Biliteracy.
Students who do not meet Intermediate high, but who demonstrate a proficiency of Intermediate low can receive a notation of Commendation.
