Arts Unlimited Celebrates 50 Years
District 214 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Arts Unlimited on Wednesday, March 18, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Forest View Educational Center. The event will also mark the release of the 50th issue of Anthology, featuring student writing and artwork from across the District.

RMHS Winter Color Guard delivered an outstanding performance over the weekend at the Midwest Color Guard Circuit competition hosted right here at Rolling Meadows. Our team earned an impressive 4th place finish, showcasing the precision, discipline, and visual artistry that have become hallmarks of the program.

Congratulations to Jack Rappa on finishing in the Top 8 in the State for boys wrestling this season and for being named the MSL EAST Wrestler of the year. What an incredible season!
Congratulations to our varsity boys basketball team on their Regional Semifinal win over Prospect High School on February 25th.

The RMHS Girls Basketball Team Takes 4th Place in State!
Congratulations to our varsity girls basketball team on their fourth place finish at the State Playoffs. Their Final Four run was cemented by their Super Sectional Win over Carmel Catholic (41-37) on Monday, March 2nd.
The team traveled to Illinois State University to take on Loyola Academy in the first round in the state playoffs on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The Mustangs won their spot in the Super Sectional match with their impressive win over Fremd High School (49-42) on Thursday, February 26th during the Sectional Final match. Earlier that week, Rolling Meadows defeated Prospect High School in the Sectional Semi-Final match on Tuesday, 2/24/26 to advance to the sectional championship game after becoming the 2026 Regional Champions with their win over Lake Zurich High School.
We are incredibly proud of this team of outstanding athletes and the school history they wrote together this season.
🎷 The 41st Annual Jazz in the Meadows will be held Saturday, February 28th from 8:00am-6:30pm.
Check out the attached schedule that includes performances by 100 ensembles from 60 different schools across the Midwest.
In addition, professional artists Chris Madsen Quartet will perform at Noon and the NIU Jazz Orchestra featuring drummer Bryan Carter will perform at the Grand Finale Concert.

When asked what time he wakes up on a Friday with no classes, Nathan gave the most honest college answer: “About 1ish.” Yet he willingly sacrificed sleep to spend more than three hours walking RMHS students around campus.

Rolling Meadows High School's EmpowHERment Initiative Club is supporting Home of the Sparrow, a nonprofit organization that helps women and children experiencing homelessness achieve long-term independence. From now until March 17th, we will be collecting essential items that will go to families in need helping them feel safe, supported, and cared for. As a school and community this is your chance to make a difference in someone else's life! Donate items on the checklist linked below to your 6th Block teacher. The 6th block class with the most donations will receive donuts for the whole class! Let’s support those in need within our community. Your small donation can make a huge difference in someone’s life!

Summer Experience includes all the programs offered within D214 during the summer, including academic, non-academic, enrichment/experiential and athletic programs open to current students, incoming students and youth within the community.
Programs will be onsite/in person (with some available online) Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m .- 12:30 p.m. They will be scheduled within the following summer sessions:
Session 1: June 8 - June 25
Session 2: July 6 - July 23

Illinois 5Essentials Survey: Your Voice Matters!
Now through March 10, we invite parents, guardians and students to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is crucial in shaping the success of our school by gathering feedback on leadership, teaching collaboration, family involvement, school support, and instructional goals.
By completing the survey, you are helping us better understand the environment at D214 and provide feedback that will guide improvements. It's anonymous and easy to complete.

District 214 Artists and Writers Invited to Enter Arts Unlimited Contest
Submissions are now being accepted for the Daily Herald and District 214 Arts Unlimited Art and Writing Contest. The contest invites students to submit original artwork, poetry or prose in any genre, style or theme for a chance to be featured in the Daily Herald. Entries will be accepted through February 13 and are open to residents of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling.
All submissions must be sent electronically to herald.contest@d214.org, and winners will be notified by email by March 17. For full contest rules and additional information, click here.

Seal of Biliteracy Registration (January 9 - January 30)
Are you bilingual, have you studied a language other than English, or do you speak another language at home?
Students at District 214 have the opportunity to be recognized by the State of Illinois for earning proficiency in English and an additional language. The Illinois State Board of Education's Seal of Biliteracy Program will place an official seal on diplomas and official recognition will be placed on transcripts of students who qualify. Illinois public post-secondary institutions must grant university language credit to recipients of the Seal of Biliteracy.
Students who do not meet Intermediate high, but who demonstrate a proficiency of Intermediate low can receive a notation of Commendation.

RMHS Students Plant 19 Trees on Campus
On Wednesday, September 10th, our RMHS students proudly partnered with Openlands to plant 19 new trees right here on our campus! This project was a fantastic example of students giving back to their school and community while building environmental stewardship.
A huge shout-out goes to Kirsten Eubanks, Karina Perales, and Michelle Gammelgaard for leading the way with our FFA students and many others who stepped up to make this project a success. Their guidance and leadership helped create a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

Sydney Carlson, Class of '26, will represent Rolling Meadows at "Theatre State" in January 2026 as a part of the All-State Company for Newsies! She was selected through a very competitive process to play the Keyboard 1 part in the pit orchestra! This is a huge accomplishment and honor for Sydney! Way to go! #MustangPride
