AP CAPSTONE DIPLOMA PROGRAM

At High School District 214, 26 students earned the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma during the 2021-22 school year. The AP Capstone Diploma program helps students develop the critical thinking, research, collaboration and presentation skills that are critical for academic success.

To receive the AP Capstone Diploma, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and on four additional AP Exams. Approximately 14,100 students at participating AP Capstone schools around the world earned this distinction. The honored students include:

Robert Borland, Evelyn Browning, Madeline Burda, Rebecca Caliendo, Sean Cunningham, Elizabeth Doulas, Gabriel Dubowski, Elizabeth Ferrazza, Erika Fetyko, Claire Gao, Michael Kim, Hannah Pignataro, Charles Schmidt, Emma Schmidt, Adam Stanhope and Colin Stanhope from John Hersey High School.

Justin Baek, Luke Brown, Maya Kusalovic, Augustus Mikes and Devon Spielman-Solheim from Prospect High School.

District 214 had a total of 1,366 students earn AP Scholar Awards during the 2021-22 school year. This distinction is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. District 214 students received a score of 3 or higher on 5,635 AP Exams during the 2021-22 school year. A 3 or higher on an AP Exam has multiple benefits for students, including earning college credit, advanced placement, or both, saving them time and money.
