District 214 App Showcase Highlights Student Innovation and Creativity
Innovation and creativity will take center stage at the District 214 App Showcase on Monday, May 18, at John Hersey High School. The event will feature nearly 90 original mobile and web applications developed by students from nine participating schools.
Throughout the school year, students have worked to design and build apps that reflect their interests and solve real-world problems. Projects range from productivity tools and educational resources to interactive games and tech-driven services, showcasing a wide range of skills in coding, design thinking and user experience.
The showcase will begin with a student-only presentation at 11 a.m., followed by a public exhibition from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Community members are invited to attend and explore the student-created apps while engaging with the developers behind them.
At the conclusion of the event, top teams will be recognized for their work. Selected students will have the opportunity to present their apps at the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue, further highlighting the impact of student innovation across District 214.
