214Cares Supports 400+ Families - And Counting

The 214Cares campaign, the Education Foundation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has generated more than $110,000 from the community, alumni, retirees, teachers and parents, and supported more than 400 families at every school in District 214. The goal of the fund is to provide basic needs -- from rent and food to utility bills -- for those in dire need because of the pandemic, either due to illness or job loss. The project has been a significant partnership between the Foundation and social workers and counselors at the individual schools, who regularly make requests regarding families they know are in need. Families needing assistance because of COVID-19 should contact their school counselor. To donate to the campaign, visit 214foundation.org. As part of the campaign, individuals can adopt a family for $250, providing food and basic needs.
