A New Era for High School Students: College Now Program Launches

District 214 is excited to announce the launch of College Now, an innovative partnership with Harper College and school districts 211 and 220.

Imagine graduating high school with not one, but two significant accomplishments: your high school diploma and a transferable associate degree. That's the power of College Now. This initiative allows students to complete up to two years of college coursework before they receive their high school diploma, significantly reducing the overall cost of higher education and accelerating their path to a degree or career credential.

Beginning in Fall 2026, eligible juniors from District 214 will divide their school day between their home high school and Harper College, taking college courses that will earn them transferable credits. Senior year will primarily be spent on Harper’s campus, with the flexibility to take a class or two at their home school. Students in College Now will also have the unique advantage of participating in extracurricular activities at both their home high school and Harper College.

"We are thrilled to expand opportunities for our students through College Now," said Dr. Scott Rowe, Superintendent of District 214. "This initiative provides not only academic benefits but also a chance to explore career pathways earlier than ever before."

The College Now program is designed to be accessible, with an overall cost of $1,000 for four semesters. This fee covers college coursework, essential support services, textbooks, and program materials.
