Rolling Meadows High School's Scott Sauer and Tony Tanner were recently featured on NBC5 Chicago for their work helping junior Fernando Rodriguez walk using a harness.
Fernando, who uses a motorized wheelchair, hopes to walk on his own at graduation in 2016. Earlier this school year, Sauer and Tanner created a harness for Fernando to use in his physical education class, enabling him to walk without a fear of falling.
Sauer and Tanner were High School District 214's Everyday Heroes in March for their collaboration and dedication to helping Fernando gain strength with the harness. To view the 'Making A Difference' segment, click here.
