To help students navigate opportunities in high school and beyond, High School District 214 has launched a new website that offers quick and easy access to academic and career-focused resources.
The new site, Discover214.org, provides parents and students with tools to build an academic roadmap for their time in high school, and information on authentic learning experiences outside of the classroom.
The website was designed to highlight all the ways District 214 prepares students for college, careers and life. The site’s menu bar makes it easier for parents and students to discover opportunities that will help them tackle their goals and explore careers.
The new site provides essential information on a variety of programs, the District’s readiness indicators and other opportunities including:
- Early college credit opportunities in District 214, such as dual credit and Advanced Placement coursework
- District 214’s Career Pathways program, which includes a sequence of career-focused courses and access to early college credit, workplace learning experiences and industry credentials
- College and career readiness indicators used to assess District 214 students, including community service, attendance and cocurricular participation
- Parent-focused events held in District 214 to increase education on relevant topics such as vaping and dealing with stress and anxiety
District 214 parents and their students are encouraged to explore the site and connect with their school counselors and career advisors to discuss their options. Visit Discover214.org to learn more.
