Board Considers Intergovernmental Agreement with Village of
Arlington Heights

The Village of Arlington Heights has three active Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts. TIF Districts can be one way to spur growth and rejuvenate underutilized areas within communities. At a Joint Review Board Meeting, representatives from High School District 214 and Arlington Heights School District 25 requested the creation of an Intergovernmental Agreement that would obligate the Village to make annual payments to the districts to compensate each for any increased enrollment resulting from the TIF development. This proposed agreement was presented to the Board for review at last night's meeting.

The Board will vote on this matter at its August 7 meeting.
