2019 Academic Summer School Brochure

Online registration for Academic Summer School begins March 8th at 8am.  Computers will be available at home school's for registration purposes.  Students register through their home high school. Alternative program students register through their program site.

The Academic Summer School will be hosted at Prospect High School and John Hersey High School.  Class meets from 7:30am to 12:30pm.

The schedule is as follows:

1st Semester: June 10 to June 27, 2019
Week 1: Monday, June 10 to Thursday, June 13
Week 2: Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20
Week 3: Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27

2nd Semester: July 8 to July 25, 2019
Week 1: Monday, July 8 to Thursday, July 11
Week 2: Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18
Week 3: Monday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25

Prospect High School will host all core course options for Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, John Hersey, Prospect, Rolling Meadows, and Wheeling High School students.

John Hersey High School will host all special programs for Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, John Hersey, Prospect, Rolling Meadows, and Wheeling High School students.

Special Programs held at John Hersey High School will include Driver Education, Transition English as a Second Language, ELL Career Academy, Summer Internship Program, Newcomer, Extended School Year, Skills Training and Upward Bound Programs.

Afternoon Driver Education classes and Sundown Academy evening classes will be held at John Hersey High School.

 

Sundown Academy

One 24-day semester at John Hersey High School / Class meets 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Week 1: Monday, June 10 to Thursday, June 13
Week 2: Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20
Week 3: Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27
Week 4: Monday, July 8 to Thursday, July 11
Week 5: Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18
Week 6: Monday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25

 

Summer Enrichment Opportunities

Online registration for Summer Enrichment Courses begins March 9th at 8am.  Computers will be available at home school's for registration purposes.  Students register through their home high school. Alternative program students register through their program site.

The Summer Enrichment courses will be hosted at various building locations.  Sessions run Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 4pm. Each session is one week long.  See the brochure for the session dates each course is offered. These non-credit seminars cost $75 each.  Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from these offerings.

Courses are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment numbers are not met. Refunds will only be given if a course is cancelled.
