    STUDENT BEHAVIOR & EXPECTATIONS

    ATTENDANCE

Due to state law regarding required classroom and driving times, daily attendance in Driver Education is mandatory.  There will be no exemptions to this rule, as there are no make-up opportunities.  Students will be dropped from the class and their driving permit canceled with the Secretary of State, if they are absent.

To report a student absence, please call: 847-718-5588.

In the event of a weather emergency which closes schools, students may be required to attend a make up day.

    CLOSED CAMPUS

During summer coursework, John Hersey High School is a closed campus.  Students are not to leave campus or be in the parking lot for any reason, unless under the instruction of the Driver Education teacher.  Students may not leave campus or go to their cars during class breaks.

Failure to adhere to closed campus rules may result in dismissal from summer school without a refund of tuition.

    ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

Cheating, plagiarism, stealing another student’s assignment, book or notes, are serious breaches of District 214’s standards of academic integrity.  Academic dishonesty may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from summer school without a refund.
