Rolling Meadows to Host 2013 District 214 Symphonic Band Festival

District 214 will present a Symphonic Band Festival on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. Rolling Meadows High School will be the host site of the concert, featuring symphonic bands from Elk Grove, Prospect, and Rolling Meadows High Schools.
The Rolling Meadows concert will feature guest conductor Dr. Mike Fansler, Director of Bands and conductor of the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds at Western Illinois University, where he also teaches graduate wind conducting and literature and various undergraduate music education courses. Dr. Fansler has conducted and lectured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He belongs to many professional music associations, is highly regarded among his peers, and has directed numerous university summer camp music programs.
Band directors from the performing schools at the RMHS concert are the following: Ron Fiorito (Elk Grove), Christopher Barnum (Prospect), and Christopher Buti (Rolling Meadows).
