Rolling Meadows students bring Broadway classic Cats to the stage

Rolling Meadows High School Theatre presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s international phenomenon Cats, which runs from Wednesday, October 25 through Saturday, October 28.

Based on T.S. Eliot’s whimsical collection of poems, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, this popular musical brings together a tribe of Jellicle Cats on a moonlit evening, who must make the “Jellicle choice” to decide which of them will ascend to the mysterious Heaviside Layer to be reborn.

Featuring such celebrated standards as the haunting “Memory,” the original production of Cats is still the fourth-longest-running show on Broadway.
Co-directed by Kate McNally and Britnee Kenyon and choreographed by Reggie Good, Cats is a musical about storytelling. With vocal direction by Caitlyn Walsh, and pit direction by Kevin Carroll, the production is sure to entertain its audience. Set designer and technical director, Paul Fajks, lighting designer, John Sanchez, and costume designer, Heather Manzella, have encapsulated the urban junkyard of Cats.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Rolling Meadows High School, 2901 Central Road in Rolling Meadows. Tickets range from $5-$10 and can be purchased at the door or online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3085338.
