Prospect's 2013 Blood Drive May Net Seniors Scholarship Funds
February 12, 2013
In conjunction with LifeSource, Prospect High School will hold a community-wide blood drive on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to attend and donate. The drive will be held in the fieldhouse foyer, and prospective donors should enter through Door #24. The drive is open to anyone at least 16 years old. All high school students will need to submit a signed parent permission form in order to donate. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors are highly encouraged to drink fluids and eat before donating. To sign up or to get more information, contact Dave Jacobson at Prospect (847) 718-5230 or firstname.lastname@example.org or go to www.lifesource.org.
Due to the success of previous years' blood drives, Prospect High School has received $1,750 from LifeSource to distribute to high-school seniors who have donated at one of this year’s two blood drives. The money will be split into five $350 scholarships, which will be awarded following the March blood drive. Seniors who have successfully donated blood at either the November or March blood drives will be asked to fill out raffle tickets. Following the March blood drive, five raffle tickets will be drawn and the winners will be awarded the scholarships. Checks will then be sent to the respective college/university of the three winners upon verification of enrollment.
