The High School District 214 Board of Education recently approved two administrative appointments for the 2015-2016 school year.
Jason English, a science teacher at William Fremd High School in Palatine, is the Math and Science Division Head at Rolling Meadows High School. Kristen Prokup, special education department chair at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, assumes the position of Special Education Division Head at Buffalo Grove High School.
Both appointments were effective July 1.
English began his career in 1999 as a math and science teacher at Grandville High School in Michigan before becoming a math teacher in England and later an adjunct professor at Aurora University.
At Fremd, he mentored young teachers, served as an assessment trainer and professional learning team leader to promote student growth, piloted iPads in a remedial physical science course and planned a one day workshop for Township High School District 211 science teachers to learn more about Next Generation Science Standards implementation.
English holds master's degrees in physics education from Roosevelt University and educational administration from Northern Illinois University.
Prokup started her career in 2009 at West Leyden High School, where she worked as a special education teacher and case manager, delivering individualized case management and resource instruction for students with varied disabilities. She also taught self-contained algebra and vocational math courses.
At West Leyden, she served as an administrative intern as assistant principal, coordinating testing days for 1,200 students and developing a freshman math intervention program for at-risk students. In 2012, she began at Hinsdale South.
Prokup holds master's degrees in special education from Northern Illinois University and educational administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
