High School District 214 Board Approves Administrative Appointment at Buffalo Grove High School

The High School District 214 Board of Education recently named a veteran educator to an administrative position at Buffalo Grove High School for the 2015-2016 school year.

Barbara Meyer, a French and Spanish teacher at Buffalo Grove High School, has been appointed as the school's new Division Head of World Languages, Social Science and English Language Learners.

The appointment is effective immediately.

Meyer, a 1994 graduate of Buffalo Grove, has spent her entire career at her alma mater teaching Spanish and French. Since 2006, she has taught all levels of French, ranging from French 1 to Advanced Placement French.

In addition to her teaching duties, Meyer has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Co-Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts, Coordinator of Clubs and Activities, Professional Learning Community Leader, French Club Sponsor, French Honor Society Sponsor, Assistant Cheer Sponsor, Class Board Sponsor and Head Pom Coach. 

Meyer earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and French from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and a Type 75 Administrative Certificate from Aurora University.
