High School District 214 soon will begin offering text message notification for emergency announcements, including school closures due to weather. This is part of a continued effort to further enhance District communications.

You must opt in to receive these notifications.

On Monday, February 13 or Tuesday, February 14, you will receive an opt-in text invitation on every cell phone on record with District 214 and/or your home high school.

This message will come from a five-digit number or from SchoolMessenger, our District communications system, and will contain basic messaging regarding the opt-in opportunity for emergency District messaging. To continue receiving emergency text notifications via text, you must reply to this invitation message with a "Y" or full "Yes." No reply to this invitation text automatically will remove that cell phone from the emergency text notification list.

SchoolMessenger does not charge recipients for text messages sent to or from your mobile device; however, you may incur a charge from your wireless carrier.

Parents and guardians wishing to update contact information in our system can visit the Infinite Campus portal . If you do not have access to the portal, please call 847-718-7676 for assistance.

Staff should contact Human Resources to change contact information.

Note that whenever a new cell phone is added, at any point in the year, SchoolMessenger will send a new text message alert invitation to the new number to opt in.
