District 214 Internship Program
Student Application
This program is designed to provide a valuable hands-on learning experience which cannot be replicated in the classroom.
The Internship is a one-semester course (.5 credit)
Students can earn a letter grade (A = 5.0) or take the course Pass/Fail.
The Internship is included on high school transcripts.
Students submit weekly updates and their participation is monitored and evaluated by an instructor.
Transportation is sometimes available upon request.
Internship Requirements
Meet with Guidance Counselor to discuss Career Goals.
Take at least one class related to Career Interest area.
Attend ONE of the following:
District 214 Career Night
Career Trek
Classroom Career Exploration Field Trip
Students must be able to work 5-10 hours per week.
(Ideally available to begin working prior to 3:00 pm on weekdays)
Consider your schedule and your after school activities prior to applying for admission to this program.
Internet access is necessary for ongoing communication and submitting online journals.
(This includes a commitment to regularly check school issued @stu.d214 e-mail.)
School attendance and discipline records must reflect mature responsibility and behavior.
An Internship Application is considered complete when ALL forms below have been completed and submitted to Krista Paul at krista.paul@d214.org
Deadline is November 1 for Spring Semester Placement
Deadline is May 1 for Fall Semester Placement
Interviews will be scheduled when all forms have been received.
