The High School District 214 Board of Education on Thursday appointed Donald Wesemann as Wheeling High School’s Division Head of Special Education for the 2016-2017 school year.
Wesemann has held several roles in Algonquin-based Community Unit School District 300 since 2008, including special education teacher, interim elementary school principal and director of education services, where he utilized his compliance expertise.
Prior to his time at District 300, Wesemann served at Barrington High School as a special education teacher from 2002 to 2007 as well as assistant department chair of special services from 2007 to 2008.
Wesemann holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree from Aurora University in education leadership. He also holds a Director of Special Education endorsement from Aurora University.
