On behalf of the Board of Education, welcome to High School District 214.
Our Board of seven members, elected by the community, oversees all aspects of this nationally recognized District, including curriculum, athletics, fine and performing arts, buildings and grounds and our robust and innovative staff of educators.
The District's nearly 1,600 employees work every day to deliver relevant education to more than 12,000 students, preparing them for success in college and 21st century careers. That hard work has earned all six of our schools recognition from U.S. News & World Report and The Washington Post as among the state's best and most challenging, and every District 214 comprehensive high school has been designated a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
Meeting the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of our students is a consistent goal that drives every one of our employees from classroom educators to custodial, maintenance, food service, and support staff and administrators, and every one of our District 214 Board members. We collectively believe it is our responsibility to ensure every student is ready for college, careers, and life.
Our Board of Education members include District 214 graduates, longtime community members, and current and former parents of District 214 students. Together, we have logged more than 75 years of board service. We are proud of this District: from our employees, students, and the business and community partners who help us offer our students robust experiences to our alumni and retirees, who have helped build a rich tradition of excellence that began more than 100 years and continues today. Thank you for being part of our story.
