App Development Classes Spotlighted in Media

High School District 214's nationally unique mobile app development courses were featured in a Daily Herald article as part of a new trend of computer science courses meant to inspire teamwork and innovation.

The story, which ran on Sunday, May 3, 2015, also featured apps designed by students for their peers and school community. Students working on these mobile apps learned coding in the classroom and drew upon on class assigments or personal experiences to build their apps.

These classes are taught in our six comprehensive high schools by educators who attended a boot camp last summer to learn 21st century coding skills.
