On Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 District 214’s Talent and Development Program hosted AP Night at Forest View Educational Center. The objective of this evening event was to educate first time AP parents and students about the rigors of Advance Placement classes. This initiative grew out of the needs highlighted by our TDP Student Leadership Committee.
The evening included a keynote address by Dr. Lopez, Associate Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. This address was followed by several break-out sessions hosted by a variety of District 214 Advanced Placement teachers, D214 Counselors, ans representatives from the University of Chicago and The College Board. These educators and guests offered strategies and advice to parents and students about how to be successful in AP classes.
