District 214 Presents Annual "Career Nights" Programs
September 11, 2014
High School District 214 will host three "Career Nights" throughout October and November at various high school sites in the district. Each night will focus on different career clusters, highlighting various professions in each category. With representatives from numerous businesses and industries, students and their parents will receive invaluable information on planning for the future.
The selection of presenters is configured based upon a student inventory, which every student completes in the spring. Top areas of interest are chosen and speakers are invited to informally talk with students about these areas, which affords both students and parents a unique opportunity to learn about various careers and hear about "real-life" experiences.
The first Career Night of the school year, "Careers in Arts & Communication/Human Services," will be held at Rolling Meadows High School on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
"Careers in Health & Natural Resources" will take place at Prospect High School on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Wheeling High School will be the site of the third and final night in the series, "Careers in Engineering/Industrial Technology/Business & Computers," on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
On-site registration begins at 6:00 p.m. There will be a student panel, two break-out sessions and a networking session, and each evening will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
